A Tribute to Lee Cook

Our hearts are heavy with the news that Lee Cook passed on December 2nd as he rode home on his bike. Lee and his wife Jan have been major supporters of the Lake County Historical Society and Ely Stage Stop Museum for years. Lee was always the first to volunteer to take on a project at the Museum. He did everything from grounds maintenance and tractor maintenance, to outdoor display work. He helped build both barns, managed parking at most of the events, and spent several years as the Society’s Membership Chair. Most people know him as the tractor driver for the museum hayrides or the Historical Society parade floats. Lee’s spirit is evident in everything in and around the Ely Museum. His friendship, advice, and hard work was greatly appreciated and will be missed. Our love and support go out to his wife Jan as we all reflect on Lee’s time with us.
