Plans are under way for a big celebration this summer. It is the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum. A committee is working diligently to present an exciting day of good old fashioned music, food and FUN.
The date is Saturday, July 17th. The gates will open at 10 am with Dignitaries and Founding Members gathering at 1 pm to commemorate the occasion.
We will have hot dogs, root beer floats, and popcorn. There will be demonstrations and displays of Lake County History and music and theatrical vignettes throughout the day.
Bring the kids! They will be able to pan for “gold”, and learn about the archaeological Field School from Yuba College, who are surveying the original Ely homestead. The horses and wagons will be harness up and they can even have their face painted.
The gates will close at 3 pm so that we can get ready an exciting evening benefit event.
Our Anniversary celebration will conclude with a Farm to Table dinner, benefiting the Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum. Thanks to our wonderful community, we are SOLD OUT!
A delicious BBQ dinner by Smokin’ “S” BBQ Company will be served. The menu consists of Pork Tenderloin with pear chutney, summer vegetables, salad, artisan breads, and dessert. All elegantly serviced outside under the Oaks in our Trolley Grove. Wine and Beer will be available for sale.
David Neft will entertain us with his music before and during dinner.
The highlight of the evening will be the popular Cowboy Entertainer, Dave Stamey from Central California. “Cowboys and Indians” magazine has called him “the Charlie Russell of western music. He has fans from near and far.”
There is something for EVERYONE! Come help us CELEBRATE!
